We did that, AVIVA didn't reply to my call about the costs as the adjustor was sick for two weeks and didn't have anyone else to answer. Imagine such a large company and no one to take calls from customers when an adjustor is sick.
On the first level of buildings insurance cover, accidental damage to any fixed glass, sanitary fittings , service pipes and cables are covered. We have never made a claim till this month and have had no explanation of why our claim was rejected and are simply sent on merry chases all over their website to find nothing. The Ombudsman has made repeated attempts to get Aviva to comply with their decision and Aviva has simply ignored them. We are now in the process of asking the Courts to issue a Court Enforcement Order, so that enforcement action can be taken against Aviva to recover the sum awarded to us. We have also reported this matter to the Financial Conduct Authority and this has still not prompted Aviva to settle this matter. If Aviva ignores the Government bodies and the laws put in place to regulate them, there is no hope for a customer who has a legitimate complaint against them. Aviva will simply respond to this review by stating that they will contact us to resolve this matter.
Also their price DOES NOT include fees - unlike my current insurer who charges £40 for the privilege. Very straightforward online form and pleasant experience. Sounds like the policy you have is online only so there is no phone line unless you are in a claim situation, this is outlined before you take out the policy.
